Really playing.
It was so fun to forget about being an adult for a little while and make all sorts of sweet play-doh goodies with my two favorite little men.
My hubby had to work late one night so I promised the boys we would get out
the play-doh (all 25+ colors) and just play.

So we did.
L's super chocolatey ice cream delight
My version of a mini wedding cake... I know, don't quit my day job ;)
Not sure exactly what E was creating, I think he was ripping the play-do into pieces for "sprinkles". I would normally get upset when the colors get mixed but I've learned to let it go, I mean if they don't care that they are mixed why should I?
He he he...do you have any special toys/games you like
to play with your kids?
Or the kid-at-heart in your life?

Aww, I LOVE Play-Doh! I still think Logan's a little too young, because he always tries to feed it to our dogs. ;)
ReplyDeleteThat ice-cream cone looks delicious, by the way! :)
I'm glad you were able to forget about the world and just play with your little guys. I bet they enjoyed it almost as much as you did! :) Have a good weekend!
I am such a kid at heart! I would love playing with play doh! I think that's why I'm crafty still because it brings out the kid in me...
ReplyDeleteI let the play-doh get mixed up too. My sister-in-law HATES when it happens, but like you say, if they don't mind why should I? Although I should say I don't allow play-doh in my house very often because it ends up everywhere, including the carpet.
ReplyDeleteWe enjoy legos at our house. :)
Good for you!!! I have never been a big fan of play doh..so I usually let the hubby play that with Cate. But if I'm feeling like a kid and want Cate to really enjoy herself (and treat her), I'll get out the finger paint and paint alll day. We both have fun! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeletewe did play-doh this week, too! : ) it's so fun to create. the ice cream cone rocks. our green, yellow and blue colors are all molded into one now. the kids don't mind. hope you had a sweet weekend!
ReplyDeleteAhhh...playdoh...my nemesis. That I've had to let win. :) For so long I didn't let them mix -- and then I'd get aggravated. Finally, I had to let that part go and let the blending begin. After all, it's $1.99 for a new four pack. And when they're on sale it's $1.69 at Target.
ReplyDeleteNow, I'm on a quest for some gluten free playdough for Samuel.
Blessings, my friend!

Loved this! I"m a playdoh lover...the smell! I can so see why kids want to eat it! lol My daughter just posted a pic today on instagram about her playing with playdoh with her girls and having to overcome the "mixing the colors" thing too! I was so proud of her little perfectionist self for letting go and having fun! Woo hoo! Freeedom!! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a good mama you are! My son recently got into watercolor painting (can't make too much of a mess with that!) I love watching him intensely try to paint his train coloring book. He makes me paint along with him:)
